poster designed by access factory inc. in 1995 for poetry readings. fantastic illustration (and type placement!) poetry is such an abstract thing that can, in effect, be stamped with obvious visuals, it is nice to see something that feels anything but cliche.
the hits on this blog have sky rocketed since i uttered the words “air jordan one” in a prior post. this fact has nothing to do with this post, it is pure coincidence. both posts are connected though, i remember freaking out about the air jordan one when i was 8 and i also remember freaking out about this poster when i was 12. i did own the air jordan one, but never this poster. beautiful in its concept and simplicity. it reads: “no bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings. – william blake
absolutely beautiful bottle designed by bloom in london. the limited edition bottle to mark the 100 year anniversary of both johnnie walker black label and selfridges. each of the 100 bespoke bottles produced has a real leather label (hear that, real leather!) and is individually numbered. the utter simplicity used to achieve the johnny walker brand is a luxury you sometimes have with a 100 year old liquor staple, but they took it to a new level of sophistication and elegance worthy of a 100th birthday. happy birthday johnnie.
