herman miller tapped design studio, kleinreid to design these gorgeous walnut tops inspired by the eames’ love of toys/tops. they considered playtime as productive time, priming the brain for ideation and problem solving. charles once noted, “toys are not really as innocent as they look. toys and games are preludes to serious ideas.”

was walking by a dentist office in jackson square this weekend and saw this poster hanging in the waiting room. designed by stephen frykholm (herman miller’s first in-house graphic designer) and philip mitchell for herman miller’s summer picnic in 1970.
