was walking by a dentist office in jackson square this weekend and saw this poster hanging in the waiting room. designed by stephen frykholm (herman miller’s first in-house graphic designer) and philip mitchell for herman miller’s summer picnic in 1970.
I was fortunate enough to be at Cranbrook at the same time as Steve and he was our studio mentor. I also am fortunate to have the Sweet Corn poster in my collection of art pieces. He and Nancy have done presentations at NMU in the past and will be coming here again in February ’09. We are looking forward to seeing him again and are planning a fun reception for an old friend.
